Did you know?

Aluminum cans are the most valuable item in your bin. Aluminum can recycling helps fund residential recycling collection. In 2005 about $1.7 million worth of aluminum cans were needlessly thrown away in Denver.
 
Throwing away a single aluminum can, versus recycling it, is like pouring out six ounces of gasoline. Last year, Americans recycled enough aluminum cans to conserve the energy equivalent of more than 15 million barrels of oil.
 
In 2005, Denver residents recycled 180 tons of aluminum. . . enough to save 720 tons of bauxite ore used to make new cans.
