The ordinance provides for eleven members to be appointed by the Mayor for terms of three years in length. The ordinance empowers the Mayor to appoint a chairperson to preside over the Planning Board on an annual basis. The Manager of Community Planning and Development is an Ex-officio member of the Board, and shall serve as secretary.
The ordinance requires that the Planning Board shall hold at least twenty-four meetings per year, with a minimum of one meeting per month. Minutes of proceedings are public record.

Brad Buchanan, Chairman

Mr. Buchanan is a principal with Buchanan Yonushewski Architects. He has served as the Chair of the Landmark Preservation Commission, and as a member of the Blueprint Denver Land Use and Transportation Advisory Committee and the Quick Wins II Task Force. Mr. Buchanan is associated with the Downtown Denver Partnership and Colfax on the Hill.
Laura E. Aldrete

Laura Aldrete, AICP, is a senior supervising planner at PB Placemaking. Her focus is on the Denver Union Station project management and transit station area planning around the Denver Metro region. Previously, she served as the Assistant Director of the Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) working to realize community revitalization in typically underserved, blighted communities. Her key responsibilities included oversight of the federally funded housing rehabilitation programs on behalf of the City and County of Denver, and policy and technical guidance critical to the planning, design and ultimately development of infill projects. Prior to her position at DURA, Ms. Aldrete was the Special Projects Director in Denver’s Office of Economic Development and the Stapleton Project Manager in the Denver Mayor’s Office. Throughout her career, Ms. Aldrete has worked closely with landowners, City Administration and agencies, City Council, developers, community groups, and other interested parties. Ms. Aldrete, a native of Colorado and graduate of the University of Colorado, advanced to receive a Masters of Arts in Urban Planning and Latin American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Richard Delanoy

Rich Delanoy has resided in Denver since 1972. He is a Realtor specializing in commercial and residential transactions. Mr. Delanoy has served on both the Cherokee Denver Redevelopment Citizens Advisory Committee and the Gates East Citizens Advisory Committee. Additionally, he served on the City-wide Demolition Task Force. He is a past director for the Platt Park Neighborhood Association and the Old South Pearl Street Association. Currently he is the Co-chair of the Denver Board of Realtors Governmental Affairs Committee.
William H. Hornby

A resident of Denver since 1957, Mr. Hornby is a former editor of the Denver Post. He is a trustee emeritus and former chairman of the Colorado Historical Society. He serves as a board member of the Clayton Center for Children and Youth, the Colorado Historical Foundation, and the Center of the American West at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is chairman of the Education Foundation of the Colorado Community College System.
Anna Jones

Anna Jones is a senior associate with Progressive Urban Management Associates (P.U.M.A), a consulting firm that specializes in downtown and commercial area revitalization strategies. Anna is primarily involved in the formation of special districts, market-based planning and project feasibility analyses. Prior to working at P.U.M.A, Anna served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Sri Lanka teaching English and working at a sea turtle hatchery. Anna is affiliated with Colfax on the Hill, the International Downtown Association, and the Colorado Revitalization Association.
Judith Martinez

Judith Martinez is a Denver native and the Director of The National Center for School Engagement at the Colorado Foundation for Families and Children. Judith is a member of Finding Common Ground, American Evaluation Association, and American Planning Association. She also recently served on the Justice Center Task Force. Her interests on the Planning Board include community engagement, affordable housing, and asset-based community development. Judith has a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado at Denver. She currently lives in South Denver with her husband and daughter.

Mr. O’Donnell, a Denver native, is president of Starboard Realty Group, LLC, where he specializes in solving complex regulatory and land use issues, as well as provides real estate entitlement project management services for clients throughout the metropolitan Denver area.
